The Winston residence on King George Vth St. This house has been in the family for four generations.
George Austin Winston purchased the house circa World War 2. He was a member of the legislature and executive council. Many a de facto meeting was held on the porch to discuss serious matters of state while sampling his famous brew of rum punch. Note the symmetry and beautiful urban garden.
A favourite resting spot for carnival revellers. What would a carnival be without the camaraderie between the street reveller and the onlookers on the verandah while tired revellers seek rest on the beautiful stone-cut steps.
